Menu Me ("we", "our", "the app") is an AI-powered menu scanner that helps you find healthy food choices. Your privacy is important to us.

Data Collection

Menu Me collects the following data to provide personalized menu recommendations:

• Dietary preferences — Your diet preferences, allergies, and health goals entered during onboarding
• Menu photos — Photos you take or select for menu analysis
• Scan history — Previous scan results for your reference

This data is stored locally on your device. We do not maintain accounts or store your data on our servers.

Third-Party AI Service

Menu Me uses Google's Gemini AI to power the menu scanner feature. When you scan a menu, the following data is transmitted to Google's servers for processing:

• Your menu photos
• Your dietary preferences (allergies, diet type, health goals) to personalize recommendations

This data is sent securely via HTTPS through our proxy server (gemini-proxy.ccrilly.workers.dev). We do not store your photos or preferences on our servers — they are forwarded to Google for processing and the response is returned to your device.

Google's processing of this data is subject to Google's Generative AI Privacy Policy. Google maintains data protection practices that provide the same or greater level of protection as described in this privacy policy.

Camera & Photo Access

The app requests camera and photo library access for scanning restaurant menus. Photos are processed temporarily by Google Gemini AI and are not retained by us.

In-App Consent

Before using any AI-powered features, Menu Me displays a disclosure screen explaining what data is sent, who receives it, and how it is protected. You must accept this disclosure before the scanner feature becomes available. You can revoke consent by reinstalling the app.

Subscriptions

Subscription purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We do not collect or store any payment information.

Data Sharing

We share data only with the following third party:

• Google (Gemini AI) — Menu photos and dietary preferences as described above, for the purpose of providing AI-powered menu analysis

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any other third parties.

Analytics & Tracking

Menu Me does not use any analytics, tracking, or advertising frameworks.

Data Retention

All personal data is stored locally on your device. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data. Data sent to Google Gemini for processing is subject to Google's data retention policies.

Your Rights

You can delete all your data at any time by deleting the app. You can also reset your profile in Settings, which clears all preferences and scan history.

Children's Privacy

Menu Me is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
